Steel slag granulation plant

Slag from steel-making furnaces cannot be easily granulated like that from iron-making blast furnace, and the usage of them are completely different. Until recently, China Steel Corp. decided to improve the way of steel slag handling, steel slag is now no longer poured onto ground and cooled by nature air, but is blown away by nitrogen gas and quenched in water. The result is a steel slag granule of 3-6 mm, just a little bit coarser than blast furnacce slag. Most of the adverse characteristics of air-cooled BOF slag are eliminated and it has now become a good product to sell. In the mean time, you save the capital for slag transfer cars needed before.
