Nowadays in power plant, sluicing system for bottom ash handling has been substituted by the submerged chain conveyor system. However, to make the bottom ash a useful resource, we like it to be dry.
We hold the red hot bottom ash on a grizzly screen which allows small particle to drop off and fresh air to go through, so that unburned carbon content can be largely reduced. Dry bottom ash system achieves two major benefits: save up to 2% fuel consumption and make the bottom ash a resource.
